Alisa Tang
Alisa spent years as an assignment editor on The Washington Post's local desk and now writes "Alisa's Daily Dose" for readers across the D.C. area. Visiting family near St. Louis, she and Elizabeth sat down to talk about community, connection, and the personal challenges that sudden hardship can bring. Alisa helped Elizabeth make sense of what she had witnessed at the Ste. Genevieve detention center, and encouraged her to seek out asylum seekers and hear their stories firsthand.
"There's so much misunderstanding right now around immigration. Listening to women like Alisa gives me clarity and compassion for everyone involved."
